Gold Discovery Site, Coloma, CA

This place was so interesting. Like stepping back in time to 1848, to see how the miner's lived and the actual site where gold was discovered. Eerie feeling walking thru the cemetery too.
Our campground was about a mile down the South Fork of the American River filled with whitewater rafters and kayaks. The water was released many miles north everyday for the rise to accomodate the rafters. Great place to sit at the water's edge and take pictures of the participants.

Sharing the road with the mountain goats. He was just one of many that crisscrossed our path with the rest of his relatives.

Here we are above Hidden Lake. One of the most thrilling hikes we took in Glacier.
Walking across this glacial field to get to Hidden Lake. BRRR!!! but how exciting.

Swiftcurrent Lake on the eastside of the park in Many Glacier outside of Babb, MT.

My first Bull moose in the wild. What a sight to see.

Atop Logan Pass deep in the heart of Glacier Nat'l Park.
This is an awesome site. We took the path around the base. 1 mile around. Marmots, chipmunks and the occasional porcupine crossed our path.

Can you believe the traffic you can come across?
This was a falls on the Spearfish Canyon ride.
This was in Mitchell, Nebraska. The famous Corn Palace. The murals on the front and all sides of the building are made of 5 different types and color of corn. Very interesting. It was built originally to prove to the founding fathers that people would come to see such a site and tourism would make the town survive.

After Rushmore we headed to Devil's tower in Wyoming. Awesome sight especially as you are coming upon it on the highway.
Then around the area to Spearfish Canyon and the lovely (uh-oh) town of Sturgis. Ghost town the rest of the year other than that one week a year when it is flooded with bikers.
Jim had the best Walnut pie in a town called Hill City. So good, we ended up buying a whole pie to take with us on our travels.
Then off to Montana and the glorious Glacier Nat'l Park. WOW!!! We loved it and the endless pictures are so many to choose from, it's hard to pick one or two to view. Lots of hikes and motorcycle rides from one side to the other over the "Going to the sun road".
OOPS! Camera breaks. No shots of the next 2 stops. Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helenes.
Got back on track after a stop at Fry's Electronics in Portland, OR. Phew!
Newport, OR. on the coast, lighthouses, a rodeo, an RV rally in Albany, OR. and then to Bend, OR. and all that happens around that area on the eastside of the Cascades.

So hopefully the pics will take you thru the last 2 months.

Since the Iowa Rally

Jim and I have had a whirlwind trip this summer coming across the upper portion of these great United States.

We left Iowa and headed to Rapid City, Mt. Rushmore, and the surrounding areas. Tons of wildlife to see, food to eat and pictures to take for your enjoyment.
